hi my babes! It’s been too long since I’ve last posted and things have been insane. Hurricane Irma recently hit Florida and I didn’t have power for two weeks! So lucky to be safe and sound, though. There are crazy things happening all over the world because mother nature is PISSED that we aren’t taking care of her and is taking it out on us 😦 BUT I’m back now with a new outfit shoot in collaboration with Free People that’s a perfect fall look. Listen to Ways by Alex Schulz and let’s vibe ❤ Make sure to scroll all the way down to shop this outfit 😉
I’m really into this burnt sienna color trend that’s going on this fall. I went all in and wore this mock neck sweater dress in that color with an adorable velvet bow (also always into velvet!) The bow gives the dress a nice shape while still allowing to to be baggy and blasé.
I love this mock neck because it’s a great classic fall style but not as intense as a turtle neck so you don’t feel like you’re suffocating. In Miami, it’ still 90 degrees every goddamn day so if I wore anything more than this, I would pass out.
Since it’s hot but I wanted to do a “beginning of fall” look, I thought that a short dress would be perfect. We do not need to wear jeans/layers before we have to! I was thinking of wearing some cute booties with this dress but thought it might be too much for a casual day to day look so I paired it with my favorite white pumas. If you wanted to wear this dress as a day to night outfit, you could just throw on some booties and voila! You’ll have a dressier OOTN.
What I love about this sweater dress in particular is the SHAPE and flow of it. The sleeves are huge and baggy, which I’m obsessed with. I hate tight fitting sleeves, especially on sweaters. These sleeves add something more to the dress that makes it more interesting instead of looking like I just threw on an oversized sweater.
The second thing I love about this dress shape is the shape of the bottom. It has a sort of U-shaped cut in the front and back which also makes this look like a cute, flirty dress instead of an old sweater.
So I obviously have to wear my favorite LINKS by LYNK no matter what outfit I have on so even with this mock neck, I wore some LINKS.
I hope you guys are inspired by this “beginning of fall” outfit! Definitely take advantage of cute fall colors and shapes like this before it gets to cold!
stay on point,
