what’s up all you broke ass bitches! This post was inspired by my boo thang. He always comes up with clever one-liners and titles for blog posts so he came up with this: Fashion DO’s that DON’T Break the Bank. And just like that, I was inspired. I came up with a few of my fashion hacks that help you save some mula while trying to still make your nips hip in this world. Hopefully I can make this into a consistent thing and keep adding more but for now here you go! Listen to Lemme Freak by Lil’ Dicky because I just can’t stop listening to it lately.
SO. Theres this new t-shirt trend where pretty much the entire front part is missing… Not gonna lie I kinda dig it! I love wearing cute barrettes so this is one way to show them off?
- So you can get any graphic tee that you have (maybe first get one you don’t really care about to test it out on). Then get a pair of scissors.
- Cut out a triangle as big or small as you want under the collar of the t-shirt to as deep of a V as you prefer. I didn’t make mine super deep but as you can see in the slideshow, Kendall Jenner has a super low t-shirt and styled it pretty nicely! So you can do that if you’d prefer. Make sure to leave the collar
- Voila! Das about it. It’s super simple and you didn’t have to spend $100 on a t-shirt. I would recommend going to Goodwill or thrifting and finding a cool old graphic t-shirt to cut out.
Next, if you know me you know I love my staple baggy denim jacket. I can wear it on a comfy study day or a night out, it goes with everything. I always collect pins and love to put them on my jacket to add some flavor to it and make it my own! I’m going to start buying some patches to iron or sew onto them as well but I recommend doing this yourself instead of buying a $300 jacket that already has them on it. This way you can buy pins/patches that match your personality and place them where you want to! You’ll save a lot of money this way and have something one of a kind. I got these pins from Ban.do and Forever 21.
I love wearing headwraps and they’re pretty cheap from Forever 21 and sometimes they have really cute ones on sale at Urban Outfitters but there’s an easier and even cheaper way! What I do is I get old scarves that I don’t wear (not much of scarf person) and I either use the whole thing or cut out a strip of it and tie it into a headwrap. Watch the video below to see how I do that! PS I made this video in the morning when I woke up, hadn’t washed my face and still had coconut oil in my hair from the night before… SO THE SCARY IMAGES YOU SEE BELOW MAY NOT BE APPROPRIATE FOR YOUNG CHILDREN 😦
Pretty much, you just get the scarf, twist it at the front of your head for a twisted headwrap look, wrap it back around your head and either tie it or pin it, whichever you prefer!
Here is a headwrap from Forever 21 for a comparison.
Last but DZEFINITELY not least, the infamous wrap around choker! I am always wearing these in my blog posts and pretty much on the daily. Chokers have made a huge comeback and there are so many different styles out there. This is a simple wraparound choker that you can pretty much do anything with! All you have to do is get any type of string that you like and follow the video. I use a thin, black suede chord and wrap it around my neck leaving the string dangling in the front to add some extra umph to it. You can buy chokers like these for up to $20 in various stores but this chord only cost me $2 from a fabric store. I also always am finding random strings from clothes or pretty much anything around my house and wrapping it around my neck! You’d be amazed at how many compliments I get on them and “where’d you get that??”s.
I hope you guys enjoyed these little fashion hacks for #BROKEBITCHES or girls like me who love fashion but don’t want to spend too much money on things we don’t have to.
stay on point,
