hey all you book wermz! the time is finally here, the first day of school 😦 BUT I’m feeling #blessed because it’s my LAST FIRST DAY! I’m a senior and graduating college in the spring (Hallelujah). Well as far as I know, unless I go talk to my advisor and she tells me I forgot to take a random class in freshman year and can’t graduate until later… but that’s unlikely 😛 this is a LOADED post, we got a first day outfit, stationary necessities, and a video! So instead of reading over your syllabi and actually getting a head start on that assignment due on Friday, read on! And please listen to Born Ready (Halogen Radio Edit) by Disco Fries because it truly pumps me up and fits the theme of this post.

SO, I live in Miami and it is HOT and since it’s august I’m sure it’s still pretty warm in most places. Which is why I’m rocking the “shorts” (minus the denim jacket). I’m super into the front tie t-shirts because you get the comfiness of a t-shirt with the added flair and trendiness! I especially love doing it with some weird graphic tee like this one. I wore it with this hunter green suede skort. The denim jacket just adds that extra color and “thang” that I needed in this outfit. It also makes me seem more badass and casual than I actually am when it’s casually laid on my shoulders like this 😉

I dig these mini skirts lately but it’s rare to find a skirt that keeps errthing in comfortably if you know what I mean. So I like skorts because you get the party in the front and business in the back kinda thing going on and the support and shelter my lil’ booty needs!

Here you can see the front and back of it:

In this photo, you can see a little peak of my new Fjallraven Kanken backpack that I got for school! (Make sure to scroll down to part 2 for a detailed picture and description!)

As you can see, I also wore these ankle socks with these super cool platform loafer type things. They need some breaking in to because if I wear them for too long I get those annoying cuts on the back of my ankle-foot bridge thing but I’m getting there! They’re the perfect little “punk school girl” statement with the fat, overly added fringe tassels on them.

As for accessories, I wore my gold-rimmed reflected sunglasses that you can see above^ I also wore this white suede string thing and wrapped it around as a layered choker. I also wore another little gold choker with small pendants on it to contrast the harsh suede choker.

As for arm and hand candy, I have my staple bracelets that I wear everyday on my right arm (gotta stay true to myself). On my right wrist, I have this awesome henna inspired temporary tattoo from Indigo Lune. I love that it’s white because it really pops with that summer tan! I wore a bunch of chunky antic gold rings that I think go well with the outfit’s color palette!

I hope you guys liked the back to school outfit! NOW, read on for some amazing stationary that you need for the school year!

If you know me, you know that I love stationary shopping more than most things (and people) I should love. The right stationary seriously prepares me for school and can even motivate me to keep my sh*t together all year long! For example, this PERFECT agenda from Bando not only keeps me organized, but motivates me because of how frkn adorable it is.

I’m going to take you through the highlights of this agenda and if you aren’t convinced to buy it at the end, it’s either because you’re a broke b***h (like me, soul sister) or you have no heart!

When you open the agenda, the first thing you see is a little folder pocket (I’m already in love). Who doesn’t have loose papers and random flyers? We need to store it somewhere! The pocket says “You are gold, baby. Solid Gold.” A nice reminder for when I think I’m going to fail my 8,000 word research paper due at the end of the semester. In the folder pocket was this little paper that says “The #BANDOGIRLGANG Secret Code”. This was a cute touch that reminded me of when I was young and used to make up fake languages and codes at school with my gal pals! At the bottom of some pages in the agenda, you can see these symbols and try to decode them.

After the page that says “This Agenda is Mine!”, you have a few sheets of STICKERS! If you know me, you know that I’m obsessed with stickers and will find any excuse to buy them and put them everywhere. I’m proud to have bought this from a company that supports over excessive sticker usage.

A few pages later, there are two pages that say “Write Down Some Reasons to Party!” which we all have and need! At the bottom of these pages is a secret code which can be easily decoded with our trusty Secret Code Sheet. I’m not going to tell you what it says so you’ll just have to buy the agenda yourself and decode it!

The next pages say “Holidays are the Best Days.” Some holidays that are included are Independence Day, first day of Yom Kippur, National Champagne Day, World Emoji Day, and Girl Gang Appreciation Day. All very important and you don’t want to miss them.

One of my favorite parts of the agenda is that every month has a cute special drawing that, as a blogger, I love because they’re the perfect drawings for layout pictures!

On the weekly part of the agenda, there are fun “to do’s” at the bottom of each page, some say “Water Balloon Fight!”, “Dress Up as Zombies and go to Dinner!”, and (my favorite) “Go Get Pancakes.” On random days in the agenda, there are some loving compliments like “You look like a million bucks today… seriously.” and ” You deserve a whole sheet of  gold stars.”

Now, on to this peekaboo folio I got from Bando! It also came with a pack of stickers and this very demanding paper that says “Have Fun, OK?” (which I adore). You can use the stickers to decorate the folio and it’s a perfect folder to store all of my syllabi and papers for classes!

Finally, I got this  Fjallraven Kanken backpack (courtesy of my fave gal and artist, Toni). I’m obsessed with how rugged and badass it is. It takes on a boxy shape and has a laptop sleeve on the inside and two long pockets on the sides! I attached my new chill pills keychain on it to add some Bando spice.

The backpack isn’t too chunky and fits all of my small notebooks! Everybody needs some cute notebooks for class (how else am I supposed to take layout pics during class?)

Finally, do yo’self a favor and GET SOME MUJI PENS! These 0.5mm pens make me WANT  to take tons of notes. They come in fun colors and last foooorever.

Welcome boob troop! Welcome to the journey that is the hip nip. I’m currently a college student pursuing Digital Media Studies in sometimes-sunny-sometimes-hurricaney Florida! I’m passionate about my major but I’m also adrenalized when I’m talking about fashion and lifestyle trends. I always find myself scrolling through fashion blogs and lookbooks of my favorite companies and realize that hours have passed and I have to start studying for my midterm that’s only 10 hours away. I hope some of you will be inspired by this blog or at least find it entertaining! If anyone wants to reach out and give me suggestions or collaborate, please feel free to contact me through the contact page or through any social media link that you can find on my blog. 🙂 Stay on point, the hip nip
